The Acropolis Rally of Greece is one of the most important and famous world car rallies, for many years in the calendar of the World Rally Championship. The rally is run on dirt and rough mountain roads around Athens in the hot Greek summer. In 2005, it was designated Rally of the Year. The Acropolis Rally was organized for 51 years by the Automobile and Touring Club of Greece (ELPA), making it one of the longest running races in the rallying world.
