Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run returns after fourteen years
September 10, 2026
Fourteen years after the last edition of the Louis Vuitton Classic Run, the House revived its long-standing motoring tradition with the Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run 2026, held from September 1 to 4.
First launched in 1993, the Louis Vuitton Classic Runs have explored some of the world’s most evocative routes, from Malaysia and Tuscany to China and Bohemia. The previous event, the Louis Vuitton Classic Serenissima Run, concluded in Venice in 2012. In 2026, Venice became the starting point for a new journey through northern Italy.
A carefully selected field of 22 historic cars from major international collections gathered at Villa Pisani in Stra, near Venice, before setting out on a route of approximately 600 kilometres. The crews travelled through the Veneto and the Dolomites, crossing some of the region’s most spectacular mountain roads before reaching Monza. On the final day, the cars paraded at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza at the opening of the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend, before the event concluded with an awards ceremony at Milan’s Castello Sforzesco.
The overall victory went to Gianandrea Redaelli, driving the 1939 Aston Martin C-Type Speed Model Roadster Bertelli known as “The Flying Pea”. In a regularity event where precision and consistency rather than outright speed determine the result, Redaelli added another Louis Vuitton success to his victories in the 2006 Boheme Run and the 2012 Serenissima Run.
Two cars counted among the Automotive Masterpieces were among the selected participants. The 1955 Ferrari 750 Monza, chassis 0530 M, originally delivered to Sicilian gentleman driver Count Luigi “Lulu” Bordonaro di Chiaramonte. One of only 32 examples built, the Scaglietti-bodied sports racer enjoyed an extensive period competition career, including victories in the Monte Pellegrino hill climb. Also taking part was the 1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport, chassis 6C 10814331, today part of the Lopresto Collection. Originally bodied as a Zagato Spider, the car was completely rebodied in 1938 by Carrozzeria Aprile to a design by Mario Revelli de Beaumont, becoming a unique interpretation of the supercharged 6C 1750 Gran Sport. Its later concours career has included the Coppa d’Oro at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
Three further awards accompanied the overall victory. Carlo Gussalli Beretta and Melissa Satta, driving a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione, were named Regularity Champions. Katarina Kyvalova and Marta Carello received the Elegance in Motion award with their 1931 Bentley 8 Litre Vanden Plas Two-Seater Drophead, while David and Virginia Sydorick, aboard their 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Zagato, received the award for Legacy and Long-Time Commitment to the Louis Vuitton Classic Run.
