#pininfarina

Pininfarina is an Italian design and coachbuilding company founded in Turin on 22 May 1930 by Battista “Pinin” Farina as Società Anonima Carrozzeria Pinin Farina, after his departure from the family firm Stabilimenti Farina. The company quickly became one of the leading Italian coachbuilders, combining body design, aerodynamics and small-series production. Over the following decades it established long-term collaborations with major manufacturers, most notably Ferrari, while also designing and building cars for Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, Peugeot, Cadillac and others. Pininfarina played an important role in the development of Italian automotive styling from the pre-war period through the post-war era and later expanded its activities into industrial, transportation and product design. The company adopted the single-word name Pininfarina in 1961, after Battista Farina officially changed his surname to Pininfarina.
