#GoodwoodFestivalOfSpeed

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an annual motorsport event held in the parkland surrounding Goodwood House, near Chichester, West Sussex, England. Established in 1993 by Charles Gordon-Lennox, then Earl of March and subsequently Duke of Richmond, it was conceived as a celebration of historic and contemporary motorsport. Its principal attraction is the 1.16-mile (1.86 km) Goodwood Hillclimb, where racing cars, motorcycles, sports prototypes, Formula One machinery and other competition vehicles take part in timed runs and demonstration drives. The event also includes rally demonstrations, exhibitions of historically significant vehicles, manufacturer presentations and appearances by prominent racing drivers. The Festival has become an established international gathering for manufacturers, collectors, racing teams and motorsport enthusiasts, bringing together vehicles from different periods and disciplines. It is distinct from the Goodwood Revival, introduced in 1998 and held on the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, where period racing cars compete in conventional circuit races.
