Gotfrid Köchert was among the most famous Austrian racers of the 1950s, he was called the "raging jeweler". Drove the 1956 Mille Miglia of 1956 with an outstanding performance before a mechanical failure. The same year won the Grand Prix at the Nurburgring and was the first Austrian victor in a car race following the Second World War.
