The Daina is a S.I.A.T.A. produced from 1950 to 1958. It was a Granturismo sold with both coupé and spider bodywork. Like all S.I.A.T.A. it was based on heavily modified Fiat mechanicals. In this case it was the Fiat 1400. The Gran Sport versions were very famous, prepared for use in racing. The Gran Sport version hit the United States where, with the first tests, it literally burned the stages in formula races. Its supporters called it the "little Ferrari". At the "12 Hours of Sebring" in 1954, she finished first in class and third overall with John Bentley. Entirely in aluminum, with a streamlined line, it was built to participate in the International Grand Prix and the Mille Miglia. The Gran Sport was a spider, the coupe version was called "Sport".
