The Tri-State Trophy was the feature race of the Cumberland National Championship Sports Car Races. Run on the airport circuit in Maryland, it brought together the fastest entries and most accomplished drivers of the weekend. Winning the Tri-State Trophy became a mark of prestige in SCCA competition, as the race regularly featured top contenders from across the East Coast and beyond.
