Subaru Impreza WRC 2000 refers to the final and most developed two-door evolution of the GC8-generation Subaru Impreza World Rally Car. Built and developed by Prodrive for the Subaru World Rally Team, it appeared in the 2000 FIA World Rally Championship and is also associated with the internal Prodrive designation P2000 and the commonly used historic/collector name S6 WRC. Although it retained the familiar two-door Impreza silhouette, the 2000 version was a major redevelopment, with extensive changes to structure, weight distribution, suspension, drivetrain and electronics. Powered by a turbocharged Subaru flat-four engine and using four-wheel drive with a six-speed sequential transmission, it represented the culmination of Subaru’s original two-door Impreza WRC programme before the introduction of the four-door WRC2001. In works competition, the Impreza WRC 2000 achieved major World Rally Championship success with Richard Burns and Robert Reid, including victories in Portugal, Argentina and Great Britain.
