Subaru Impreza 22B STi is a limited-production high-performance road car introduced by Subaru Tecnica International in 1998. Based on the two-door GC8-generation Impreza, it was inspired by the Subaru Impreza World Rally Car developed by Prodrive for the Subaru World Rally Team and became the closest factory road-going expression of Subaru’s late-1990s rally image. With its wide bodywork, turbocharged boxer engine, all-wheel drive and direct visual connection to the blue works rally cars, the 22B STi quickly achieved cult status as one of the most desirable Japanese performance cars of its era. Only 424 examples were produced, reinforcing its significance as both a collector car and a key link between Subaru’s World Rally Championship success and its road-car mythology.
