Scuderia Pegaso was a Sicilian private racing team active mainly in the 1960s and early 1970s. Founded around a group of passionate local drivers and enthusiasts, the team entered a variety of GT and prototype cars in national and international events, including Ferrari 250 GTO/64, 250 LM, Dino 206S, Alfa Romeo GTA and TZ, Porsche 911S, and Chevron prototypes. Pegaso competed in major endurance races such as the Targa Florio, Nürburgring 1000 km, and Spa, often achieving strong class finishes. In 1973, the team scored a pole position at the Targa Florio with Eugenio Renna driving a Chevron B23. Drivers like Gaetano Starrabba, Clemente Ravetto, Adriano Reale, Pietro Lo Piccolo, and Salvatore Barraco were closely associated with the team. While never a works team, Scuderia Pegaso became a respected name in the Italian motorsport landscape, especially in Sicily, embodying the spirit of skilled privateer competition.
We'll tell the story of this team on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
