#SCCANationalSportsCarChampionship
The SCCA National Sports Car Championship was a sports car racing series organized by the Sports Car Club of America from 1951 to 1964. It was the first major sports car championship in the United States after World War II and played a key role in shaping the country’s postwar racing scene. As an amateur series, it provided a stage for many talented drivers and teams before being succeeded in 1963–64 by the professional United States Road Racing Championship and the amateur American Road Race of Champions — the latter evolving into today’s SCCA National Championship Runoffs.
