René Bonnet, born December 27, 1904 in Vaumas (Allier) and died January 13, 1983 in Épernay, was a French entrepreneur who, associated with Charles Deutsch, founded the automobile construction brand DB (Deutsch-Bonnet) active until in 1962. Wanting to continue in the field after the cessation of activity of DB, he founded his own brand, Automobiles René Bonnet, based in Champigny-sur-Marne. Due to the poor sales of his cars, he had to sell his business to its majority shareholder, Matra.
