#RallyeDoAlgarve

The Rallye do Algarve, officially known as Rallye Casinos do Algarve, is a historic motorsport event held in the Algarve region, southern Portugal. First organized in 1970, it quickly became one of the most significant rallies in the country, known for its challenging routes and scenic landscapes. Initially run on mixed surfaces, it later transitioned to an asphalt-based event, solidifying its place in the Portuguese Rally Championship (CPR). During the 1980s and 1990s, the rally gained prominence, attracting top Portuguese drivers and occasional international competitors. Over the years, it played a crucial role in deciding national titles, often being one of the season’s final and most decisive rounds. The event’s reputation was further strengthened with the inclusion of technical and high-speed sections, featuring both mountainous terrain and coastal roads. Though it remained primarily a national competition, its prestige and legacy continue to make it a key fixture in Portuguese motorsport.
