#RallyDiSanMarino

The Rally di San Marino is an annual motorsport event for rally cars, first held in 1970. The rally takes place in San Marino, with stages extending into the neighboring Italian regions of Marche and Emilia-Romagna. Over the years, it has been a significant fixture in various championships, including the European Rally Championship (ERC) until 2004 and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) in 2012. Currently, it is part of the Italian Rally Championship. Notably, the rally has seen multiple victories by prominent drivers. Piero Longhi holds the record with five wins, achieved between 2000 and 2008. Local driver Massimo Ercolani is the only Sammarinese to have won the event, securing three victories in 1985, 1991, and 1996. The event has also been associated with the Loris Roggia Trophy, a competition established in 2010 to honor co-drivers, highlighting the rally's commitment to recognizing the contributions of navigators in the sport. In addition to the main rally, since 2013, the San Marino Historic Rally has been held, allowing classic rally cars to compete, thereby celebrating the rich history of rallying in the region.
