Niccolò Gioia, engineer, born in Florence in 1914. He joined Fiat in 1938; in 1945 he was appointed section director and then deputy director of the Steel Division. In 1958 he became assistant director at Fiat's general management, in 1966 division director and in 1967 deputy general director. He assumed the role of general manager in 1969 and board member in 1970. After dedicating more than forty years to the company, he died in 1979 in Seoul, South Korea, where he was for work reasons.
