Ian Parry is a British motorsport entrepreneur and co-founder of Prodrive, the company he established in 1984 together with David Richards. While Richards became the more public face of the organisation, Parry was part of the founding structure behind one of Britain’s most important independent motorsport engineering companies. Prodrive went on to run major manufacturer programmes in rallying, touring cars, GT racing and endurance racing, becoming especially known for its long association with Subaru in the World Rally Championship. Through this connection, Ian Parry belongs to the corporate and organisational history of Prodrive rather than to the technical design of a specific car, but his role as co-founder links him to the origins of the company that developed and operated the Subaru World Rally Team’s works cars.
