The Giro dei Monti Savonesi was a rally event held in Liguria, Italy, starting in 1962. Based in Albenga, the competition was run on the narrow and demanding mountain roads of the Savona hinterland. It was included in the Italian Rally Championship calendar and counted as a coefficient event in several seasons. The stages were characterized by a mix of fast coastal sections and highly technical mountain climbs and descents, often on mixed or deteriorating surfaces. This variety made car setup a crucial factor, with drivers balancing traction, suspension travel and durability. Cars that took part reflected the era and the rally attracted both factory-supported crews and strong privateer entries, many of whom used it as a proving ground for national-level competition. The last recorded edition was in 2003, closing a history of more than three decades that reflected the evolution of Italian rallying from the Giulietta TI to Group B legends and the four-wheel drive generation.
