#GiorgioFranchetti

Giorgio Franchetti "jr" (Rome, 7 November 1920 - 25 January 2006) civil engineer, was the owner of the company Franchetti & Giuliani s.r.l., active on the national territory in the construction of roads and bridges. Passionate about aviation (he fought in WWII as a pilot), he was pioneering in the mechanics of reuse: he designed and restored motorcycles, engines and in particular vintage cars, of which he was a collector from the immediate postwar period. He inherited his grandfather's predisposition to collecting (Baron Giorgio Franchetti, maker of the restoration of the Ca 'd'Oro Venetian palace), focusing on contemporary art.

We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
