Mr. Giorgio Fassio, eldest son of Ernesto who was industrialist, shipowner and publisher of the Gazzetta del Monday, Corriere Mercantile and Il Tempo newspapers. Ernesto founded Villain & Fassio and was known for being active in the marine insurance sector; he was president of the Free Shipowners Association of Genoa. The Fassio was a very wealthy Genoese family, top-level naval entrepreneurs, together with the Costa, Ravano and Piaggio families. They were lovers of beautiful cars and collectors of wonderful GTs, especially Ferraris. Giorgio himself was close to the Drake, Enzo Ferrari. In 1954 a Chemical/Oil Products Tanker in the family fleet was given the name "Giorgio Fassio".
