José Froilàn González (Arrecifes, 5 October 1922 – Arrecifes, 15 June 2013) was an Argentine racing driver best known for securing Ferrari’s first-ever Formula 1 World Championship victory at the 1951 British Grand Prix. Nicknamed "El Cabezón" for his robust build, González was a formidable competitor in both Formula 1 and sports car racing. He raced for Ferrari and Maserati in F1, earning two Grand Prix wins and multiple podiums between 1950 and 1957. Beyond F1, he also achieved victory at the 1954 24 Hours of Le Mans, driving a Ferrari 375 Plus alongside Maurice Trintignant. His skill and determination made him a key figure in Argentina’s golden era of motorsport, alongside Juan Manuel Fangio.
