Charlie Kolb was one of the most talented East Coast SCCA drivers, the 1960 National Champion in Formula Junior winning 18 of 19 races. Born in 1923, Kolb had been a professional baseball player in his youth. He played minor league baseball in the New York Giants organization before becoming an auto dealer in Miami, Florida. He raced at the top levels of the sport for almost two decades, between 1955 and 1969.
