Celso Luiz Francisco Lara Barberis (February 28, 1916, São Manuel, Brazil - September 07, 1963, São Paulo, Brazil) was an athlete and an important coffee "fazendeiro". His racing career did not start until 1949. In 1952 he began to race regularly in touring car events at Interlagos. Lara Barberis dedicated almost all his career to sportscar and touring car racing. He met his fate in the sixth edition of the 500 Quilômetros de Interlagos, a race he had previously won three times.
