Bruno Cena is an Italian engineer born in Turin in 1943, who graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin. He began his career at FIAT, working at the Direzione Esperienze Autoveicoli (DEA), where he specialized in vehicle dynamics and handling studies at the La Mandria test tracks. He played a key role in the development of the Volumex supercharger, a lobe-type compressor patented by Abarth, used both in production cars and high-performance rally models such as the Lancia Rally 037. His expertise in automotive engineering, particularly in forced induction systems, significantly influenced the performance of Lancia and Abarth vehicles during the 1970s and 1980s.
