Antonio Triglia was the son of Manlio Triglia, an agricultural entrepreneur and a prominent figure in postwar local politics, who served as mayor of Pomezia from 1952 to 1956. The Triglia family originally came from San Polo d’Enza, in the Emilia-Romagna region, where they owned the historic estate later known as Villa Triglia-Ruini. This villa, once belonging to Antonio’s uncle by marriage—Meuccio Ruini, a noted antifascist, government minister, president of the Italian Senate, and one of the key authors of the Italian Constitution—became deeply entwined with the complex history of Italy during and after World War II. Antonio Triglia grew up in an environment marked by civic commitment, liberal values, and cultural refinement. His father Manlio was noted for his moral integrity and ability to navigate beyond party lines, earning the respect of influential figures of the time such as Ugo La Malfa and Ivanoe Bonomi. Antonio inherited not only the family estate but also the legacy of discretion and quiet dignity that characterized his family. He lived between Emilia and Lazio, maintaining a low profile despite his lineage and background. While less is known about his personal or professional activities, the context of his life suggests a man shaped by strong family traditions, historical responsibility, and an understated sense of public service. He passed in 2005.
