#AndréGuilhaudin

André Guilhaudin (1924–2024) was a French racing driver, coachbuilder, and garage owner based in Chambéry. He was also the exclusive Panhard dealer for the Savoie region. Guilhaudin gained recognition in the 1960s for his innovative modifications to lightweight sports cars, particularly those built on Panhard chassis. In 1961, he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, driving a DB with a lowered roofline he had modified for better aerodynamics and handling, finishing 20th overall. The following year, he partnered with Alain Bertaut in a CD-Panhard, finishing 16th and winning both their class and the Index of Performance. Guilhaudin also competed in the Monte Carlo Rally and the Mille Miglia, and was active until 1967. Known for his technical expertise and craftsmanship, his work influenced further developments by René Bonnet’s team. He passed away on December 1, 2024, shortly after his 100th birthday.
