#AlcamoMonteBonifato

The Coppa Alcamo – Monte Bonifato was a Sicilian hill climb event held near Alcamo on Monte Bonifato’s slopes. First organized in 1962, the race was contested intermittently through 1971, paused, then briefly revived before its last edition in 1984, for a total of only 13 editions. The course ran along the steep, winding mountain road just south of Alcamo, climbing toward the nature reserve near the summit and offering drivers a technically demanding ascent. Although the event did not continue beyond the mid-1980s, its legacy was reaffirmed in recent years through the Monte Bonifato Revival, a historic tribute held annually since the early 2020s that features a parade of period racing cars and celebrates the event’s racing heritage. This revival highlights the Coppa Alcamo – Monte Bonifato’s enduring significance in Sicilian motorsport history.
