#AFNLimited
AFN Ltd, based at Falcon Works in Isleworth, Middlesex, had its origins in the late 1920s when the Aldington family, led by H.J. “Aldy” Aldington, took control of Frazer Nash. During the 1930s the company diversified from building its own chain-driven sports cars into importing and assembling German automobiles: in 1934 AFN became the official British importer for BMW, marketing the cars as “Frazer Nash-BMW.” After the war AFN entered a new phase through its collaboration with the Bristol Aeroplane Company, producing the Bristol-engined Frazer Nash sports cars between 1948 and 1957. In 1954 the firm signed an agreement to become the sole UK importer and distributor for Porsche cars, operating from its Isleworth headquarters. AFN played a crucial role in introducing Porsche to the British market, supporting both sales and customer racing activities throughout the 1950s. In 1965 the importing role was transferred to the newly formed Porsche Cars Great Britain, although the Aldington family continued to manage AFN until its eventual sale to Porsche GB in 1987.
