Anantara Concorso Roma 2025: A Celebration of Italian Automotive Excellence
March 19, 2025
Anantara Concorso Roma will take place from April 24 to 27, 2025, marking the debut of an exclusive international concours d’elegance dedicated solely to Italian classic cars. Strongly envisioned by William Heinecke, CEO of Anantara Hotels & Resorts and a passionate collector of historic automobiles, the event is organized by Anantara Hotels & Resorts and presented by UBS. Hosted in the heart of Rome, the concours will celebrate the finest in Italian design, hospitality, and lifestyle, embodying the spirit of La Dolce Vita.
This premier event will feature a curated selection of fifty of the rarest and most significant Italian automobiles, many from private collections. The lineup will include models from legendary marques such as Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lancia, Maserati, and Pagani, spanning from early automotive pioneers to the golden age of racing and the dawn of the supercar era. Among the confirmed participants are the 1963 Ferrari 275 P, a two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, the Ferrari 512 BB once owned by Gianni Agnelli, and the Lamborghini Miura featured in the 1969 film The Italian Job.
The competition will be overseen by a distinguished international jury, led by renowned concours expert Dr. Adolfo Orsi Jr. as Chief Judge, and supported by esteemed specialists such as Concours Director Jeremy Jackson-Sytner, Lorenzo Ramaciotti, Massimo Delbò, François Melcion, Stefano Pasini, Laura Kukuk, Donald Osborne, and Johanne Marshall.
Anantara Concorso Roma will honor not only Italy’s rich automotive heritage but also the city of Rome itself, celebrating Italian excellence in cuisine, craftsmanship, design, and luxury. The capital’s deep-rooted connection to motorsport, from the Mille Miglia to the historic Gran Premio di Roma, serves as a fitting backdrop for this prestigious event. Notably, the 1947 edition of the Gran Premio marked Ferrari’s first-ever victory with its self-built 125 S.
The event’s central venue will be Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel, a 19th-century neoclassical palace built over the ruins of the Baths of Diocletian. Overlooking the majestic Fontana delle Naiadi in Piazza della Repubblica, this spectacular setting will provide a breathtaking stage for the inaugural edition of Anantara Concorso Roma.
The event program includes:
- Thursday, April 24: Official opening and exclusive exhibition of the cars in front of Anantara Palazzo Naiadi Rome Hotel.
- Friday, April 25: A scenic grand tour through Rome, starting from Piazza della Repubblica, passing through the Castelli Romani, stopping at Lake Castel Gandolfo, and concluding at Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati.
- Saturday, April 26: Public display of the automobiles at Casina Valadier in Villa Borghese, followed by jury evaluations and a celebratory parade through the city center in the afternoon.
- Sunday, April 27: Awards ceremony and closing gala.
Owners of exceptional Italian automobiles are invited to submit their applications for selection, while enthusiasts can partake in a weekend of immersive experiences, including curated hospitality, fine dining, and exclusive VIP packages. This inaugural edition aspires to establish Anantara Concorso Roma as a premier international event, celebrating the timeless artistry, engineering, and passion behind Italy’s most exquisite automobiles.
