Elegance and the magic of mobility on four wheels at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2024.
May 28, 2024
One of the world’s most exclusive and traditional concours d’elegance for automobiles captivated numerous visitors from May 24 to 26. Once again this year, the dreamlike setting of the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como provided the perfect stage to experience the magic of a weekend filled with spectacular automobiles representing their era, like the much admired 1923 Diatto "boat-tail" by Corrado Lopresto. The jury selected the ultimate stellar winner from participants in the eight glamorous classes. An Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, styled as a spider by Figoni in the 1930s, won the Best of Show. This year’s Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este, selected by public referendum, was awarded to a supremely successful racing car, the 1995 McLaren F1. Rolls-Royce celebrated the 120th anniversary of the brand with a “historic class,” and a special tribute was dedicated to the great Marcello Gandini – master of modern Italian automobile design – who recently passed away. The “Public Day” attracted nearly 12,000 visitors and was already sold out by early afternoon. “The Concorso d´Eleganza Villa d´Este 2024 allows us to highlight the fascination of mobility in all its facets and connect the iconic automobile past with the present and future,” said Helmut Käs, Head of BMW Group Classic and President of the Concorso d´Eleganza Villa d´Este. The BMW Group Classic is already looking forward to preparing the next rendezvous in May 2025.
