#Schottenring

The Schottenring is a historic German road-racing venue centred on the town of Schotten in Hesse, in the Vogelsberg region. Racing began there in 1925 with the Rund um Schotten, initially using a long public-road circuit through the surrounding countryside. The event developed into one of Germany’s notable pre- and post-war road races, attracting motorcycles and, from the late 1930s, sports cars. International competition was introduced in 1933, and in 1953 the Schottenring hosted the German Motorcycle Grand Prix, with the 125 cc and 250 cc classes counting towards the World Championship. Although racing on the original road circuit later ceased, the Schottenring name continued through hill climbs, historic meetings and other motorsport events organised by the Motorsportclub Rund um Schotten.
