Mark J. Smith (1952–2021) was an American car dealer, enthusiast and collector, best known for his deep knowledge of original and unrestored historic automobiles. Based in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he created the Midland Motors museum in a former Chrysler dealership, Smith assembled a varied collection ranging from Brass Era and Classic Era automobiles to European and postwar sports cars. His reputation was especially linked to preservation, patina and historically significant cars kept in largely original condition.
