#MansfieldSportsCarRaces

The Mansfield sports car races at DeSoto Parish Airport in Louisiana were a series of SCCA regional and divisional events held in the late 1950s and early 1960s, often billed as the “Mansfield Sports Car Road Races” or “Mansfield Labor Day Races.” Run on a temporary circuit laid out over the airport’s runways and perimeter roads, they featured fast airfield-style layouts, minimal permanent facilities and strong grids of Southern privateers. These meetings became a characteristic stop on the regional calendar, reflecting the post-war American tradition of transforming small-town airfields into lively sports-car venues.
