John Norman Surtees, CBE (11 February 1934 – 10 March 2017) was a British motorcycle and racing driver, and remains unique in motorsport history as the only person to win World Championships on both two and four wheels. A seven-time Grand Prix motorcycle World Champion, including four 500cc titles with MV Agusta, he switched to cars in 1960 and became Formula One World Champion with Ferrari in 1964. He also raced Ferrari sports and GT cars, bringing to Maranello an exceptional combination of speed, mechanical sensitivity and experience from top-level motorcycle racing.
