Jean Verchère was a French collector and gentleman driver closely associated with historic competition cars, particularly Porsche racing machinery. From the 1970s onward he owned a number of significant sports and GT cars, including Porsche Carrera RSR, 935 and 962 models, and also participated in historic events such as the Tour Auto. His collection activity often combined long-term ownership, preservation and restoration of former competition cars. Among the cars associated with him was Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 chassis 911 360 0921, which he owned from around 1980 and had restored in France during the 1990s.
