#InternationalesADAC500km
The Internationales ADAC 500 km was one of the important long-distance races held on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and formed part of the post-war German sports-car and GT racing calendar. Organised by the ADAC, the event attracted a broad field of sports cars, GTs and touring cars and was valued for the demanding nature of the 22.8-kilometre Nordschleife, where endurance, handling, braking and reliability were all tested over an extended distance. Through the 1960s and 1970s, the 500 km became a significant fixture for both factory-supported and privateer teams and featured many of the leading European manufacturers of the period. In 1973 the race was held on 2 September as part of the Internationales ADAC-500 km-Eifelpokalrennen meeting.
