#ErnieMcAfee
Ernest “Ernie” McAfee Jr. was an American racing driver, engineer and car dealer, and one of the central figures of Southern California sports car racing in the early 1950s. Coming from the hot-rodding and dry-lakes tradition, he later became closely associated with imported European sports and racing cars, both as a driver and through his Los Angeles dealership, which handled marques such as Ferrari, Siata, Alfa Romeo, Moretti and O.S.C.A. McAfee competed in events including the Carrera Panamericana and raced Ferraris in California before his fatal accident at the 1956 Del Monte Trophy at Pebble Beach.
We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
