#ADACBergpreisSchottenring

The ADAC-Bergpreis Schottenring is a German hill-climb event held near Schotten in Hesse, in the Vogelsberg region, and organised by the Motorsportclub Rund um Schotten e.V. im ADAC. The first edition was held in 1968, extending the long motor-racing tradition associated with the Schottenring, which dates back to 1925. From 1971 the Bergpreis was run as an international event and during the 1970s attracted large fields of touring cars, GTs, sports cars and purpose-built competition machinery, as well as motorcycles until combined car-and-motorcycle meetings were discontinued in 1975. The course used closed public roads in the hilly countryside around Schotten and Rudingshain and became an established fixture of German hill-climb competition. The original series continued until 1983, when unsuitable road conditions brought the event to a halt; after a twenty-year interruption, the Bergpreis was revived in 2003 and continues in historic form.
