STARTING POINT
The recent history of the car was well-known, while, apart from Mrs. Whincop ownership, only uncertain information and a few photos were available about its past—materials that needed to be organized and attributed.
RESEARCH
The research was challenging, but our network of contacts and collaborations paid off. The English archives are quite organized, but much of the material has not yet been digitized, and it takes a long time to make requests and obtain results. The collaboration with the UK Fiat registry was invaluable, providing original documents and confirmations. We have currently tracked many unidentified races and added new, previously unknown races. We also discovered the names of other English owners of the car, dating back to 1939.
