#MarioRighini

Mario Righini, born in 1933 in Filo d’Argenta (Ferrara), is one of the most important Italian collectors of historic cars. He currently lives in the Castle of Panzano in Castelfranco Emilia (Modena), where he keeps his famous collection of around 350 vehicles, including the Auto Avio Costruzioni 815 from 1940—the first car built by Enzo Ferrari—and the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 once driven by Tazio Nuvolari. Despite his advanced age, Righini continues to manage his collection and the family business, Righini Demolizioni, founded in 1936 and based in Anzola dell’Emilia (Bologna), specializing in vehicle dismantling and trade. His passion for recovering and restoring vintage cars began in his youth, when he witnessed the scrapping of vehicles confiscated by the State, vowing to preserve as many historic cars and motorcycles as possible—symbols of Italy’s motoring heritage. Righini is married, has two daughters and three grandchildren, two of whom now work alongside him in the family company. His collection, which can be visited by appointment, is considered one of the most significant private collections of historic vehicles in Italy.

We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
