#moretti

Founded in 1925 by Giovanni Moretti, Moretti S.p.A. began as a motorcycle and small commercial vehicle manufacturer before transitioning to car production after World War II. In its early years, the company developed independent models, such as the Moretti 600 and 750, known for their compact design, lightweight construction, and refined aesthetics. They've been followed by the bigger 1200 series. By the late 1950s, faced with rising production costs, Moretti abandoned its proprietary designs to focus on Fiat-based special editions. This shift led to the creation of stylish, limited-run models like the Moretti 500 Coupé, 850 Sportiva, and the off-road-inspired 128 Midimaxi, all featuring enhanced design and premium details. During the 1970s, Moretti specialized in high-end Fiat conversions but struggled to compete in an evolving market. By the mid-1980s, production ceased, marking the end of an era. Today, Moretti’s cars remain sought-after collectibles, admired for their craftsmanship, exclusivity, and unique Italian styling.
