De Tomaso was an Italian car manufacturer specializing in sports cars and granturismo cars, founded in Modena in 1959 by the Italian-Argentine racing driver Alejandro de Tomaso. Over the years it has changed its corporate name several times, while always remaining under the full control of its founder, who died in 2003.
