Wolfgang Alexander Albert Eduard Maximilian Reichsgraf Berghe von Trips (1928–1961), known as Wolfgang von Trips, was a German racing driver and aristocrat. He competed in Formula One and sports car racing during the 1950s and early 1960s, becoming one of Germany’s leading drivers of his era. Associated with both Porsche and Ferrari, von Trips achieved success in endurance events such as the Targa Florio, Sebring, and Le Mans, as well as in Grands Prix. In 1961 he emerged as a strong contender for the Formula One World Championship with Ferrari, winning the Dutch and British Grands Prix. His career was tragically cut short at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, where he suffered a fatal accident while leading the championship standings.
