#WhitsunTrophy
The Whitsun Trophy is a historic motor race associated with Goodwood Motor Circuit. First held in 1954 as a Formula Libre race, it evolved during the 1960s into a contest for increasingly powerful sports-racing prototypes, reflecting a period of rapid technical development and rising speeds at Goodwood. The Trophy became particularly associated with high-performance two-seater sports-racing cars and the circuit’s fast, flowing character. Revived at the Goodwood Revival in 2001, it is now contested by sports-racing prototypes of the type raced during the early and mid-1960s, including machinery such as the Lola T70, McLaren and Ford GT40.
