#WECC

The West Essex Car Club (WECC) was an active British motorsport organization in the immediate post-war years. Founded to promote motor racing and enthusiast gatherings in the Essex region, the club played a key role in reviving competitive motorsport after WWII. WECC was known especially for organizing races at Boreham Airfield, one of several RAF sites repurposed as circuits during the late 1940s. Its events attracted a mix of amateur and experienced drivers, and a wide variety of machinery—from pre-war specials to high-performance sports cars. The club’s efforts helped sustain local-level racing at a time when Britain’s major circuits were still recovering from wartime use. Though less famous than national clubs like the BARC or BRDC, the WECC contributed significantly to the rebirth of British motor racing culture.

We'll tell the story of this club on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
