#TrapaniMonteErice

The Trapani–Monte Erice Hillclimb is a historic motorsport event in Sicily, first held on September 5, 1954. The original course measured 16.55 kilometers, starting from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Trapani and ascending to Erice via the SP1 road. Over time, the route has undergone several modifications; the current version is 5.73 kilometers long, with a 410-meter elevation gain and an average gradient of 7.05%. Since 1988, the event has been run over two timed climbs. Organized by the Automobile Club Trapani, the hillclimb has featured in multiple championships, including the Italian Hill Climb Championship (CIVM), the Italian Historic Hill Climb Championship (CIVSA), and, since 2024, the Supersalita Championship. Among the most notable winners are Pasquale Tacci, Nino Vaccarella, Simone Faggioli, and Christian Merli. In addition to the competitive race, a historic re-enactment is regularly held, allowing classic and vintage cars to revisit the scenic and technically demanding route from Trapani to the medieval hilltop town of Erice.
