#TennesseeValleyMemorialDaySportsCarRaces

The Memorial Day Sports Car Races were SCCA regional events held on airfield-style circuits in the Tennessee Valley area during the 1950s, forming one of the most characteristic meetings of the Southern racing calendar. Using fast runway layouts with minimal facilities, the event gathered privateers from Alabama, Tennessee and neighboring states, campaigning Jaguars, Porsches, Ferraris, MGs and a variety of American-built specials. Known for its lively early-summer atmosphere and close-knit paddock, the Memorial Day meeting provided valuable competitive mileage and became a staple of post-war grassroots road racing in the region.
