#TargaVesuvio

The Targa Vesuvio was an Italian road competition held in the Naples area, named after Mount Vesuvius and run on public roads in its surroundings. Active during the 1950s, it was open to Gran Turismo and production-based cars and formed part of the Southern Italian motorsport calendar. Typically characterised by a mixed course combining coastal and inland sections with elevation changes, it provided a technically varied challenge suited to versatile GT cars. Like many regional events of the period, it attracted both local and interregional drivers and contributed to the widespread use of road-derived cars in competition during the post-war years.
