#StanleySugarman

Stanley C. “Stan” Sugarman was an American oilman and gentleman driver active in sports car racing during the 1950s. Based in Phoenix, he owned and entered several Porsche 550 Spyders and other European machinery in SCCA National and regional events. His cars were often listed under his own name as team entrant, with both Sugarman himself and drivers such as Ruth Levy competing for him. Though not as structured as major private outfits like John Edgar Enterprises, Sugarman’s entries contributed to the vibrant West Coast and Southwest racing scene, and his name remains linked to the history of Porsche 550 competition in the United States.
