#SilverCupChallenge
The Silver Cup Challenge was the feature race of the Hawaiian International Sports Car Races, first held in 1957 on a temporary airfield circuit at Waialua, Hawaii. Sanctioned by the SCCA, it brought together mainland entrants and local drivers in a unique Pacific setting. John Edgar Enterprises entered Porsche 550 Spyders, while Lance Reventlow, Ruth Levy, and other notable competitors also took part. As the highlight of the Hawaiian races, the Silver Cup Challenge reflected both the expansion of American sports car racing beyond the mainland and the festive spirit of the Seafair-style events of the 1950s.
