The Scuderia del Grifone was founded in Genoa in 1958 and soon became one of the leading Italian private teams in rallying, hill climbs and circuit racing. Based in Liguria, it supported both factory-linked programs and private drivers, fielding cars from Fiat, Lancia, Alpine, Opel and Porsche through the 1960s to the Group B and 4WD eras. After a period of inactivity in the 2000s, the team was formally reactivated in 2019 and is today again present in rallying, regularity, hill climbs and track events, continuing a tradition that spans more than six decades.
